Workshops for your Parish or School
Liturgical Music Workshops for your School and/or Parish in preparation for the 50th International Eucharistic Congress
About the workshops.
Ian Callanan is one of Ireland’s leading composers of liturgical music. He has been involved with liturgical music his entire life and has been composing music for over 20 years. He is an accomplished composer, arranger, score editor and workshop leader. As part of the preparation for the Congress, Ian’s services are being retained by IEC2012 on an independent contractor basis to support the objectives of the Eucharistic Congress through the interactive teaching of the new Mass settings in the national programme “Sing the Mass”, the hymn of the International Eucharistic Congress “Though we are Many” and other music that will support the preparation for the Eucharistic Congress in your school and/or parish.
How much do the workshops cost?
These workshops are sponsored by IEC2012, this means that the costs of Ian’s time and work are covered. However you will have to cover expenses such as travel, accommodation, administration and handouts. We will do our utmost to ensure that these costs are kept to an absolute minimum. You might consider booking some school’s workshops on the days preceding or following, the parish/diocesan workshop. By doing this costs can be shared.

What people have said…..
Just to say well done here over the two days you were with us – there has been a lot of really positive feedback from parishes about your two workshops and a sort of cry of ‘why didn’t we have him before’. I was particularly impressed by how you led them through what the music in liturgy is about without lecturing them….thanks, that was great. Frances form Kerry
I just wanted to pass on my thanks to you for the great day I had in Ballincollig on the 13th Nov. I was thinking this was going to be a long day but with your great singing, guitar playing and plenty of good humour thrown in you made it such a wonderful day. I loved the selection of music and look forward to passing on the new material to my folk group. I look forward to being part of future workshops with you….you are an inspiration to us all. Rose from Cork
This is the best workshop I have ever been at. Ian is a genius and brings everything to life with such ease. I will definitely be coming back to the next workshops! Mary from Waterford
Becoming a full-time musician
Today, I began a new and exciting chapter in my life. I hung up my hat as Volunteer Services Manager with the 50th International Eucharistic Office to focus more on my music and music ministry. I am very grateful to the congress office who have recognised the gifts I have in music and have contracted me to deliver workshops throughout Ireland for Schools, Choirs and Parishes on music that will enhance the Eucharist. It will be a busy year for me but one that I know I will really enjoy. So if you wish to have me come to your School, Choir, Parish or Diocese starting from September please do get in contact with me and we can arrange something. Please stay tuned for more information or visit www.iancallanan.com or www.facebook.com/iancallananmusic for all the latest info.
